Our comfortable 3 star hotel, located close to the shores of Windermere, England's longest lake, has a prominent, sunny position and it's only a short walk to the villages of Bowness or Windermere. Themed holidays are specifically designed for partially sighted and blind people and their companions. Guide dogs are very welcome but please note they cannot go on the intermediate and high level walks. Enjoy full board, en suite accommodation and use of the leisure facilities. The various excursions, any entry fees, boat trips and lunches out are all included. Some theme breaks do involve walking over uneven or wet ground.

Winter Wildlife and Walks, 5 nights - £340
With a wealth of wildlife, lakes, forests and nature reserves as well as varied habitats in this often unspoilt district we aim to reveal some of the secrets of local beauty spots, gardens and lakeshores. Influenced by the landscape the wild life here is spacial to the Lake District and a variety of birds are attracted to the large lakes, waterways and intricate crags. Expect short walks in woodland areas, along lake shores, in forests and gardens as well as talks and information about habitats in the area and plenty of fresh air. We will also relax with lunch breaks in the warm, making use of local cafes and a pub lunch. You will need good, sturdy shoes or boots suitable for short walks around gardens, also a warm coat, preferably waterproof. Waterproof trousers and walking boots can be useful.
